Barcelona is home to the most daunting monument in Spain, according to Tripadvisor. The travel platform has prepared a global list where it analyzes the 20 most famous monuments in the 85 most prominent cities in the world. In this ranking, Park Güell has been classified as “the most disappointing” in the entire nation.

Park Güell is in 12th place in the ranking and is considered the most disappointing monument in Spain due to its price. Visitors find it excessive to have to pay 10 euros, in addition to another five and a half to access the museum. In addition, long waiting lines are mentioned, which sometimes exceed 50 minutes.

Apparently, visitors do not perceive that the cost of entry compensates for the high architectural value of this iconic place in the Catalan capital.

It is relevant to note that No Spanish city appears in the ‘top 10’ of the classification. According to this ranking, Bangkok is considered the most overrated city by tourists.

Barcelona seems to lead when it comes to disappointing monuments. A recent article published by The Telegraph suggests that the Catalan capital is in the middle of an architectural controversy that has generated more than simple reactions. Under the title “Barcelona tries to ban one of life’s greatest pleasures,” the newspaper criticizes the emblematic temple designed by architect Antonio Gaudí, describing it as “the ugliest cathedral in the world.”

According to The Telegraph, the famous Sagrada Familia “looks like an ordinary church but made of wax, which is melting.”
