A family company made up of Pedro Barbolla, María Jesús Sánchez and Sergio has given rise to the gastronomic project Foodtribu. It is a food truck that will be installed from today, the May 1st holiday, until October 31st in an idyllic as well as touristy environment, such as O Portiño from A Coruña, and will consist of take away of different specialties cooked to order.

They have already had a first contact at Easter that has been complicated by the bad weather and now they face this new stage with enthusiasm and a “limited menu with good quality food.” The name of the business is because food It is food in English and reflects its intention to give it a touch of community, to gain followers “who embrace our proposal,” they say.

They will be about 50 meters from what is known as the Atlantic Window with the Sisargas in the distance as a setting, all accompanied by unbeatable sunsets on summer days. Foodtribu consists of a trailer of about 8 square meters with all the equipment inside, and from where freshly cooked food will be distributed to be consumed in the car or in the surrounding area.

As a hospitality option in this enclave, Tita Rivera stands out, but its proposal has a more informal character without the need to sit around a table. Those responsible for Foodtribu do not belong to the world of hospitality, but they have been encouraged by this adventure, aided by the fact that they live a few meters from where the foodtruck will be installed in an environment that they know perfectly and where they detected this gastronomic need, given the high influx of public. who visits the area on days of good weather.

Galician cow burger or roxons sandwich

Among the options to choose from, the Galician cow burger with artisan breadcheddar and a cream cheese that they are finalizing or the roxons sandwich (a type of chicharrones made by cutting the bacon and skin into small pieces and cooking in water over low heat until some of the fat is removed) with Galician cheese. Both varieties can be accompanied with fries within the available combos.

Other specialties are sandwiches (tortilla, Guijüelo ham or Iberian chorizo) and an artisan dog with “good meat.” “I don’t want to give anything that I don’t eat, there are no decorations and nothing is wanted to be masked,” they acknowledge from Foodtribu. Specifically, the bread is dispensed and custom-made for them by the well-known Suso Bakery, which has several locations in A Coruña.

People vegan and vegetarian Those intolerant to gluten will also be able to eat at Foodtribu. For those with a sweet tooth, the offer has Bico de Xeado ice cream, almond or some artisan sweet glasses with a glass of cookie or cake with fruit on top.
