The May holiday, which joins the non-school day in the community of Madrid tomorrow, means that Vigo will receive a large number of visitors arriving from the Spanish capital. This is reflected in rail services. Between today and tomorrow, seven of the eleven trains that, directly or indirectly, arrive to Vigo from Madrid, posted the no tickets sign. Specifically, almost all of them will travel today (except for the early bird Alvia at 8:00 a.m. arriving in the city at 12:32 p.m.) and the first two tomorrow, the one at 11:20 a.m. and the one at 2:00 p.m. :30 hours.

There will also be problems with his return. In fact, There are no empty seats left for Vigo-Madrid on Sunday, except for the Regional at 2:10 p.m., which transfers in Ourense and takes a total of 4 hours and 33 minutes. All this with prices that amount to 90 euros.

Last days for discounted high speed prices

Discounted AVE tickets to Madrid are scarce. The arrival of high speed in Vigo on May 21 brought with it a flood of purchases at a reduced price of 18 euros. A measure promoted by Transport, which would add 39,000 subsidized weekly tickets to connect Galicia with Madrid. Almost two weeks after unlocking for purchase, there are only a few days left between May 21 and July 21 that have this price reduction. The high demand led to a sale of 22,500 tickets in the first 48 hours, with a special predilection for the weekend, dates where they were sold out well in advance. Once the bonus has been exhausted, the prices to travel on high speed have skyrocketed and range between 87 and 108 euros. A cost that, at the moment, is not effective due to the little time saved (barely 10 minutes) that is cut from the trip.
