The Castelló window display competition chooses its 10 finalistsMediterranean

The Councilor for Commerce and Consumption of the Castelló City Council, Alberto Vidalhas visited the 10 finalist businesses Of the first window display competition on the occasion of Centenary of the Coronation of the Virgin of Lledó. The photographs from the shop windows have been evaluated by a professional jury that will select the winners who will be made public on May 7th.

A jury has chosen the ten finalist businesses.

“It has been very moving to see how our merchants have gone out of their way to pay tribute to the Lledonera on the occasion of the Centenary of her Coronation,” explained the mayor, adding that “many of them have shared with us that it is a deep-rooted tradition in our businesses to beautify the shop windows in the celebration of significant events and this anniversary could not be an exception. This display of creativity and dedication reflects the deep bond that Castellón has with its patron saint.


Vidal also highlighted that “this new initiative is part of our revitalization of local commercethrough which we seek to support our merchants throughout the city, contributing to giving more visibility and dissemination to their work,” he stated.



The ten finalists of this first edition of the contest are Ele&A (3 Gravina Street), Vannu (6 Alloza Street), Babiloni Tenda D’Art (2 Governor Bermúdez de Castro Street), La Peonza Eventos y Regalos (Ronda Vinaeta, 10), Batista Fashion and Decoration (3 Clara Campoamor Street), Sáez Confection (Enmedio, 158), Asomat-e Artisan Products (23 Mayor Street), Forn Miravete (45 Sant Roc Street), Incontro Footwear (Alloza Street , 105) and Sombrería Fenollosa (Zaragoza Street, 15).


Two checks are scheduled to be distributed to the two winning businesses. The first place will receive 300 euros, for having been considered the business with the best valued showcase by the jury. The second prize will be 180 euros for being valued as the store with the second best showcase in the opinion of the jury.

In addition to the financial prize, both businesses will be awarded with a promotional video of your business to spread on social networks. “With this we want to encourage citizens’ knowledge of these businesses and thus provide them with professional resources to value their work,” Vidal explained.
