Alicante City Council invests 2.7 million in expanding its fleet of fire vehicles

This Tuesday, the local government board of the Alicante City Council awarded contracts for the supply of a fleet of ten firefighting vehicles, including trucks, vans and all-terrain cars for the Alicante Fire Prevention and Extinction Service ( SPEIS), with an investment of 2,706,833 euros.

The awarding of contracts has been divided into four lots and they have been for the companies Iveco España SL, Incipresa SAU and Floymeca SA, as indicated by the Alicante council in a statement.

The Councilor for Citizen Security, Julio Calero, has highlighted the “important investment”, which he has indicated is aimed “at the modernization of facilities and means of municipal emergency and security services.”

The municipal body has proposed its classification and award to Iveco Spain of lot 1, which has submitted an offer of 1,553,325.40 euros; and Incipresa SAU for lot number 3, with its proposal for 755,161 euros. In addition, lot 2 has been awarded to Flomeyca SA for a total of 184,782.13 euros, and lot four for 213,565 euros. Altogether, the investment amounts to a total of 2,706,833 euros.

Specifically, lot 1 is awarded the purchase of two heavy urban pumpers and one light urban pumper from Iveco Spain for 1,553,325 euros. Lot 2, for the supply of a decontamination van, went to Flomeyca for 184,782 euros.

For its part, lot 3, to provide an air reserve van, another diving van and a third for rescue, in addition to a rescue chassis-cab truck, has corresponded to Incipresa for 755,161 euros. And finally, lot 4 for the supply of two command and leadership vehicles has also been awarded to Flomeyca for another 213,565 euros.

This competition is part of the set of initiatives worth more than six million euros launched by the City Council for the renewal of the fleet of vehicles, material and facilities of the municipal emergency services.
