The Government of Navarra seeks the transversality of youth policies | Current Pamplona

The Government of Navarra held the first Interdepartmental Youth Commission of this legislature this Tuesday morning, in which around twenty directors general from the different Departments were able to learn about the evaluation of the III Youth Plan 2021-2023 and They have marked the transversality of youth policies as the main objective for the remainder of the legislature.

The Interdepartmental Youth Commission is a body chaired by the third vice president and counselor of Youth Housing and Migration Policies, Begoña Alfaro, which is responsible for the coordination, cooperation and promotion of transversal policies aimed at the young population.

The meeting began with the approval of the minutes of the previous session, to then give way to the presentation of the report on the evaluation of the actions corresponding to 2023 of the III Youth Plan and the strategic planning as a whole and, subsequently, of the approach to updating the strategic planning on youth for the period 2025-2028.

It is important to mention that the Government of Navarra approved the Foral Youth Strategy 2020-2023 on November 11, 2020, which was the starting point for developing the contents, programs and actions of the III Youth Plan, which the Navarro Institute of Youth has been working in coordination and collaboration with agents in the youth field. Subsequently, in the development of said Strategy, the Third Youth Plan 2021-2023 was approved, the execution of which has already been completed.

In fact, yesterday, during the Commission, the evaluation of the aforementioned Plan was reported, in which it was noted that, between 2021 and 2023, the Government of Navarra has carried out a total of 452 actions regarding youth, 4 % more than those foreseen in the Plan, with the total expenditure executed being 189 million euros.

16 differentiated areas of activities

It should be noted that the 452 actions developed during these three years are divided into 16 different interconnected thematic areas, which are distributed among three axes. The first of them, the Auzolan Axis, includes activities related to associations, social inclusion, coexistence and gender, volunteering, territorial development, linguistic policy or leisure and free time.

On the other hand, the Emancipation Axis is made up of four areas of activities: formal education and non-formal education, employment and labor incorporation, and housing. And, finally, the Horizontal Axis encompasses all activities related to health, culture, mobility, consumption, sports and the sustainability of life.

In view of the preparation of next Youth Plans, the young population surveyed points out a series of suggestions regarding activities and programs, such as housing aid to enable emancipation; discounts on cultural and leisure activities; more activities in the North Zone and more variety in the Tudela Zone; training in art, technologies and artificial intelligence; more sports activities or a single card for access to public services, among other issues.
