The British startup Beachatlasspecialized in the analysis of coastal landscapes, has published the result of the ‘Golden Beach Award 2024’ contest, which includes a list of the 100 best beaches on the entire planet.

According to the jury, made up of “travel experts” and “influential people”, the beach of the Barcelona is the fifteenth best beach in the world and stands out for being the “beach heart” of the city of Barcelona. The beach, which has been punished during Holy Week by the storm ‘Nelson’, has been chosen more for its meaning than for the quality of the beach.

This selection has not assessed the usual characteristics that determine the quality of a beach, such as tranquility or cleanliness. The list has evaluated the beaches based on several criteria, such as value to the communityhe Lifestyle and the historical and cultural significance.
