CADIZ, May 1. (EUROPA PRESS) –

Revenue per available room (RevPAR) – the main indicator of hotel profitability – has experienced an increase in March 2024 compared to the same month last year, reaching an interannual rate of 18.49% more and with a income per room of 43.20 euros, the fifth highest in Andalusia, although 17 euros below the regional average, set at 60.13 euros.

According to provisional data from the Institute of Statistics and Cartography of Andalusia (IECA) consulted by Europa Press, the hotels in Cádiz have sold their rooms in March with a price 8.93% higher than the same month in 2023.

Specifically, the hotel price index in the province stood at 109.83 euros, about nine euros higher than last year. This places it in this month of 2024 as the seventh Andalusian province in this category, with almost 25 euros less than the regional average, set at 134.48 euros.

Regarding the average daily rate of rooms in Cadiz hotels, these were set this March at 88.80 euros, placing this province as the fourth in Andalusia in terms of profitability of the hotel sector behind Seville, Malaga and Granada, and with an increase of 23.59% compared to the same month of the previous year.

By tourist spots, Chiclana de la Frontera has been the Cadiz town with the highest income per available room in the province. In this sense, the IECA has detailed that this municipality has obtained income of 70.11 euros, 30.73% more in March 2024 compared to 2023.

After this, Cádiz is the next town in the province that appears on the regional list, with income of 58.28 euros, 23.37% in the interannual rate. Jerez is next with 50.08 euros and an increase of 16.17% compared to March 2023.

Regarding the average daily rate, Chiclana once again leads the ranking of Cadiz municipalities with 126.98 euros, 70.86% more than in March 2023. Cádiz follows with 95.31 euros and an increase in the interannual rate of 14.49%, and Barbate with 92.53 euros.

Tarifa, Jerez and Conil are other municipalities that appear on the list of Andalusian tourist spots, with an average daily rate of 82.86 euros, 79.92 euros and 77.64 euros, respectively.

By tourist areas of Andalusia, the Costa de la Luz of Cádiz has registered income per room of 44.53 euros in March, the second highest in the autonomous community, increasing its interannual rate by 19.06%, and surpassed only by the Costa del Sol of Malaga. Regarding the average daily rate, this area has registered a cost of 90.07 euros, 26.54% more than in the same month of 2023, data that once again places it in second position, after the Malaga coast. .
