When an atomic war devastates the world, the foundations of society crack along with its cities. Where there were once shops, ruins remain; Where a school was previously built, the rubble barely remains. You no longer go to the movies or the nightclub, university is over and goodbye to the office. There are still bars, you can always trust bars, even if the drink is alcohol mixed with dirty water. In the fiction of Fallout, the video game saga on which the successful Amazon Prime Video series is based, some live underground, oblivious to what is happening outside and locked in their safe havens. Unfortunately for everyone, In the apocalypse there is no International Workers’ Dayneither on May 1 nor any other day.

In Fallout Vaults everyone has a job. When young people turn 16 they are asked to perform The Generalized Occupational Aptitude Test, also known as GOAT (for its acronym in English). It is a test, a series of questions that determine the work that the person is going to perform in the shelter’s organizational chart. As shown at the beginning of the third installment, it is not that the questions are too brainy, since it is not possible to fail nor do there seem to be wrong answers. In any case, at the end of the exam the candidates leave with a job.
