The provinces of El Oro, Guayas, Los Ríos, Manabí and Elena were declared in a state of emergency for 60 days, due to insecurity.

The provinces of Gold, Guayas, Los Ríos, Manabí and Saint Helena were declared in a state of emergency for 60 days, through Executive Decree 250 issued this Tuesday, April 30, 2024, by the President Daniel Noboa.

According to the document, this occurs “within the framework of the persistence of internal armed conflict” which has been in force since last January 9 at a national level to confront organized crime.
